Position: Oracle Database Administrator
Job Description:
Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Experience supporting relational databases as a DBA, with multiple distributed relational DBMS's or a depth and focus in Oracle and related tools. Success at using the DBMS to optimize performance of large databases for enterprise use is greatly preferred. Experience with an organization with a key 24 X 7 reliance on its database(s) is required.
The candidate will possess strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills, strong interpersonal communication skills and a can do attitude. The candidate must feel comfortable in a Production fast-paced, team-based environment working on critical systems and system components. Candidate must be capable of working as part of a dynamic cross-functional team, and as an individual contributor. Opportunities include the use of advanced tools in support of database/server management and production support activities.
Proactively manage, monitor and maintain Oracle production databases, interconnections, and schemas for a 24x7 support of production environment.

· Tools support, Blade logic and BMC Proactive Net and recovery of production databases
· Perform Oracle instance moves between database servers.
· Ensure high availability, backup, and recovery of production databases
· Create and maintain scripts using Unix shell scripting to simplify the database support tasks.
· Manage physical standby/failover servers in remote facilities.
· Contribute to the DBA processes and standards.
· Production on call support required
· Strong experience on Performance Tuning, Data Guard, Backup Recovery
Experience: 5 – 10 yrs
